Don’t Miss the Fun at the Missouri State Fair
Since 1901, the Missouri State Fair has been held in Sedalia, Missouri. The fair was originally conceived by local ranchers and farmers as a way to show off their livestock and harvests. Traditionally a barometer of the state’s success and progress, the fair has documented Missouri’s agricultural history and has played a role in keeping agriculture one of the state’s top industries.
In 2019, the fair runs from August 8th through the 18th and is filled with fun for everyone. Admission prices are discounted for seniors and kids under 12, and kids under the age of five get in for free. Live music acts will perform throughout the event at the Pepsi Grandstand and the State Fair Arena. The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will take part in the opening day parade along with the MU Mule Team, and they’ll later be on display at the fair. Of course, there will be carnival rides, games, and deliciously comforting fair food.
You can purchase tickets for all shows ahead of time by signing up to be a Fair Fan. The pre-sale begins on June 18th. Tickets go on sale on June 25th through Etix or the box office. Tickets for a show don’t include admission to the fair, and parking is always free. Below you’ll find the full lineup of shows at this year’s Missouri State Fair.
